Just a little procrastination

I took some time out from downloading mountains of research PDF files (and printing them!!) to write some more music. Tim and I spent the past couple of weekends feeding off Nandos and listening to music all night. During one of those nights came 'Adore' by the Smashing Pumpkins, which frankly I adore. Neither of us had heard it in a while and a few days later of printing, I suddenly thought, "sod this, I need to write a tune".

It wasn't long, however, before guilt sank back into me and I had to stop, but it was worth it. It's still pretty simple (you noticing the running theme here?) and no chorus part to tie it all together, but I have some big ideas. I'd describe the sound, but it's all MIDI instrumentation right now... only a couple of weeks to go before I can properly get into all this and begin my secret project too.

I'm bought Cansei De Ser Sexy (Portuguese for "I'm tired of being sexy") today and love it. They're playing at the Astoria soon, I might go if tickets are still available. I'm worried it'll be another one of those bands that I get into and suddenly they become huge and then 'everyone' is into them. It's not that that's a bad thing, but the novelty can wear off really quickly by the public's thirst for anything that new, different and enjoyable. Just look at what happened to Franz Ferdinand and The Darkness.

Procrastination is over, back to some printing.
